SIRI’S Approach to Providing Services

Care Consultation & Choice

At SIRI we place emphasis on the self-development of the individual to promote his or her self-confidence and independence.

SIRI’S approach involves a comprehensive, integrated and focused service delivery which emphasises the rights and responsibilities of our service users as individuals in determining how they lead their own lives.

SIRI helps its service users to achieve their personal goals by creating an environment in which they feel able to take the risk that this involves. SIRI’s priority is to help users meet   their individual needs as human beings, while acknowledging that their mental health problems may require special expertise and understanding. This exercise of choice brings with it additional responsibilities for the individual and we encourage our users to exercise this.

Defining the Stakeholder & Clients

SIRI works with people with mental health problems, some of whom may have spent some length of time in hospital. We recognize that everyone has a range of needs, which varies throughout their lives. Some of our clients have basic mental health problems and related needs; these needs vary from person to person. SIRI works with cases of special needs on a daily basis and from time to time unique cases which other agencies would not be able to handle.

SIRI also works with those people whose special needs may only arise from or because of a particular set of circumstances. The reasons why clients have special needs may be transient or permanent. They could relate to social circumstances - such as redundancy, debt, or the breakdown of relationships, or may relate to physical illness, or they may involve mental health problems. When such special needs arise, they often   have to be met through seeking advice and help. Sometimes, in meeting these special needs, a person’s everyday needs are overlooked.
